The Town of Ludlow and its Veterans Services Department will be launching a new Hometown Heroes Banner Program to be displayed beginning this spring as a living tribute for our community to honor past and present members of the Armed Forces.
The mission of the Ludlow Hometown Heroes Banner Program is to place banners honoring our service members, either living or deceased, who have served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces. The banners will be installed up and down East Street (from the Putts Bridge to Chapin Street).
Banner applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis until all available spaces are claimed. Each banner will include a photo of the military member, along with their name, rank, branch of service, and conflict, if applicable. A sponsorship of $100 is required for each submission. Service members killed in action will have priority in placement.
Banners will be displayed for ONE YEAR (CHANGED) and then they will be removed and returned to the service-member or their family.
2026: WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS ON A FIRST COME FIRST AVAILABLE SLOT FOR THE 2026 YEAR.
To have a banner made of a service member, they must have joined the service from Ludlow or live/lived in Ludlow. The submission form can be found on the veteran services website at www.ludlowveterans.us. Individuals can complete the form along with submitting a picture and making payment to the Town of Ludlow. (“Heroes Banner” in Memo Line).
